The Windmill Angle Tester

Students begin the angle section by learning to make a windmill angle tester using Mathomat. Students use their angle tester to compare the relative sizes of different real-life angles in the wild. The 12 windmill angle units in the tester give it a similar structure to the Mathomat protractor, students are invited to explore this relationship. Degrees as a formal angle measurement unit are introduced, along with the underlying concept of what an angle actually is.
